Bubby’s and I became acquainted in the years before children when there was nothing to quench that 4 am nightlife hunger like a slice or maybe a whole pie. Traveling back to the city with a toddler, Bubby’s welcomed me back once more with delicious food and a busy atmosphere that both entertained our new diner and provided enough background noise to drown out excited pancake shrieks.

Mini-golf, a fabulous children’s playground and a great place to start you walk or run along the river, Pier 25 is an incredible outdoor space for families in downtown Manhattan. Plus, frequent celebrity sightings don’t hurt either.
Learn: Sailing in the city

For older kids and families, Off Shore Sailing offers free 3 hour sailing clinics on Friday afternoons. If you are a city dweller or staying for an extended period, don’t miss their reasonably priced learn to sail classes- held over three consecutive days.
